The accountancy world is changing. Firms are merging, being bought by private equity, and rolling up into national groups. With so much movement, it can sometimes feel like the personal side of the profession is fading into the background.
So this news means a lot to us.
Last week, Maslins was named Best Contractor Accountancy (1,000–3,000 clients) at the Contracting Awards 2025.
And we couldn’t be prouder.
Why this award matters
Our whole model is built on something very simple: people. Personal service. Real conversations. Small teams who know their clients.
When the judges described our service as “deeply personal” and praised the “superlative care” our team gives, it felt like a genuine reflection of what we work so hard to protect.
Built differently (on purpose)
While the industry has been consolidating, we chose a different direction. In 2021, Maslins became Employee Owned. Every member of the team is now a co-owner, which means every client is supported by someone who has a stake in the quality of the service they deliver.
It’s why we keep client-to-accountant ratios low. Why the vast majority of queries get acknowledged (and often answered) within the same day. It’s why 200 of our Google reviews are five-star and so many name team members individually.
It’s not a marketing strategy. It’s simply what happens when the people doing the work also own the business.
As Julie, our Managing Director, puts it:

Awards are wonderful, but the real endorsement comes from our clients. Of the 240 new clients who joined us last year, 80 came through personal recommendations. That’s the kind of growth you can’t manufacture. It’s the kind you earn.
