Maslins have been excellent with supporting me as an IT consultant. They are responsive to emails, usually replying within an hour and have available as needed for a phone call for more complex enquiries. They review things I do in Free Agent and flag anything that comes up. They have also helped with my self-assessment which made that much easier.

I'd have no hesitation at all in recommending Maslins, or in using them again if I re-enter the world of contracting. Ever since they became my accountants in 2018 the whole experience has been buttery smooth. When I do have a query they're always quick with a helpful response. But by-and-large things just happen seamlessly in the background, with timely reminders from them whenever I need to do something. A real model of what a modern, customer-focused accountancy firm can be. If there was a Maslins for organising all the other bits of my life I'd sign up in a heartbeat 🙂

I can't say enough good things about Maslin's. So much better than any other accounting service I've used. I moved to Maslins at the beginning of the year after my previous accountant made a lot of errors and it's one of the best decisions I've made.
There's really nothing negative I can say about Maslins; their service and care have been absolutely fantastic.
I've mainly dealt with Bradley & John from the team, both of whom are a real asset to the business. There have often been times when I've needed a second opinion on really complex tax questions, and they've both been extremely knowledgeable and keen to help.
I really couldn't recommend Maslins more highly.

Maslins is exceptional in every way. Handled my accounts for 5 - 6 years & I honestly can't recommend them enough.

The software (FreeAgent) makes it simple to keep everything up-to-date & the lovely people at Maslins take care of the rest (payroll, all necessary tax / company returns, etc).

Any questions are answered super fast. I can't recall it ever taking even an hour for one of the team to respond during working hours.

You can just relax knowing that accounts are perfectly maintained (with absolutely minimal effort on your part) & concentrate on operating your business.

I couldn't have asked for a better service.

Don't bother researching any further. Maslins is all you need.

Maslins were my accountant for the best part of 8 years, and not at one single point did I ever feel they were anything other than exceptional. Never did they fail to answer my queries. Always available over email or phone. And always offered timely advice when maybe I had overlooked something.

The integration with Freeagent is so simple too, rather than some in-house system that previous accountants had offered.

I've been using Maslins for my company accounts since I opened (July 2019ish) and they've just wrapped up my final closing accounts now that I've finished trading.

Julie has been my main point of contact throughout and she has been incredible. She's always got back to me quickly with detailed, accurate information. Her patience dealing with my follow-up questions, when I've wanted to dig into the specifics (probably more than I needed to, to be honest), has also been commendable.

Access to FreeAgent as part of the package made tracking company finances feel a lot less stressful as well. Great choice of a piece of software that made my life (and presumably/hopefully theirs) a lot easier.

When Julie's been away, another member of the team has always picked up from her seamlessly and there's been no interruption to the high quality service. Would absolutely recommend Maslins to anyone else for their small business accounting.

Maslins are a breath of fresh air compared to my previous internet based 'contractor focused' accountancy. Extremely flexible, super quick when responding to emails and very knowledgeable. Julie and Bradley are excellent and always look after me!

I moved away from one of the biggest internet based contractor accountant firms as I got fed up with slow response times, multiple layers of dressed up customer service teams (not Accountants) and an online book keeping tool that was inflexible to my specific needs.

Since moving to Maslins and using their preferred book keeping tool (FreeAgent) it has been so much easier to manage my book keeping and financial affairs, including the other non contracting revenue streams I have.

I really appreciate having instant access to highly skilled and knowledgeable Accountants, who are always quick to respond and happy to help whenever required.

For the past few weeks, I've been in conversations with Daniela discussing the possibility of becoming an Ltd (I'm currently a Sole Trader). We talked on the phone and email. She was very patient, quick replying and very helpful answering all my questions. She didn't push me into making any decisions. I only worked with Maslins (Tom in particular) for a short while, but they've really impressed me. Very quick to respond to queries, succinct, no nonsense and accurate advice, which is exactly what you'd want from an accountant. Local small business, with employees having a real stake in the business is what brought me in (having dealt with a large company were you'd never get reply, or where every email came from a different name you've never heard from before, or again). Maslins have done my accounts for years. They've always been knowledgeable, diligent, incredibly helpful, prompt at responding, they have a keen eye for detail and can answer any queries very effectively. It's great that they are employee owned and you really get the sense this means they care more about the business.

It's nice and simple using FreeAgent and makes it super easy discussing any issues as you can share links to the exact transaction or report etc. They're also great for keeping you on top of everything involved in running a company in terms of VAT/PAYE/Corporation tax/Self assessment etc.

I'm leaving a review now because I'm closing down my company, but I'm sure I'll be back with them again if I am to set up a new company in the future.

My previous accountant did my business accounts only and were pretty expensive and any additional queries were chargeable. I would get so confused with my accounts and when it was time to file self assessment I was often late and I had fines. When I closed my previous company I ended up losing around £3K that I was unable to claim back!

I saw loads of great reviews for Maslins and when I started my new company decided to go with them - they handle everything, are incredibly friendly and personable and really took the stress away - huge thanks to Gareth and Daniela and the wider team. I would highly recommend!

I've used Maslins for 11 years now, and it's hard to leave a review for them without sounding like I work for them. They are the nicest bunch of accountants (I mean that in a good way) you'll ever meet. Every one of them is friendly, professional and responsive. Emails are replied to almost by return, they're pro-active with any issues they spot and they'll bend over backwards to help you in any way they can. Don't even give it a second thought, just sign up with them, you won't regret it.

This is the first accountancy firm I've ever used that I've really loved. They have their thing (contractor and simple small business accounting) and they do it really well, for a very reasonable cost. As a tech industry person I am particularly fond of how automated their systems are. I would definitely recommend Maslins!

BEST ACCOUNTING FIRM I'VE EVER USED! I've been self employed for 20 years and a limited company for about 10. And I've had a few different accountants. My company is small (it's just me), and I find accounting processes difficult. These guys are supportive and provide prompt efficient customer service. They know what they are doing. They are familiar with all the latest online processes and don.t make you feel silly for not being an accountant. Great priced fees, pay monthly instead of one huge bill, and they include the annual FreeAgent fees, which are worth over £300. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED.

I've never waited more than 30 minutes for a response, and they do email responses, which fits around my hectic schedule far more easily than a phone call. They also natively use FreeAgent which makes my life so much easier. Fully recommended!

I read another review by someone saying Maslins was the best company they had ever worked with. That probably sums it up for me too. Everyone in the team is so easy to work with, friendly and professional. As someone who has a bit of a block around accounting, working with Maslins has meant I actually feel on top of everything - no mean feat. Until I recently closed my company, I'd been with Chris and the team at Maslins for 6 years and have always found them to be super helpful.

In all that time there has never been an instance where I didn't get an email reply within a couple of hours. If someone is on holiday their email is *always* monitored by another member of the team so you never have to chase things.

I can honestly say I'd go back to them again if I have another company.

Maslins was the third contractor accountancy I signed up with after having a very poor experience with two of the bigger firms. I'd previously been let down by poor advice, poor communication and online software that didn't work properly. I initially found the Freeagent contractor accountancy software and loved the look of the product and the feedback it was getting. I then looked for an accountants that used the software and came up with a shortlist. I did a lot of background research into the companies on my shortlist and found a lot of contractor forum posts recommending Maslins with no negative comments. I signed up with Maslins and have found they have always gone above and beyond my expectations. They have always been on hand to give advice and have never let me down in the slightest. I've always been able to ring or email them and get the advice I need immediately. They've also been great at chasing me to get things done on time which isn't always easy when you're a busy contractor! I have no hesitation in recommending Maslins!
